Larry Lansburgh’s presentation introduces you to the Achuar—proud indigenous people living in the heart of the Amazon rain forest.
The Achuar had no contact with the outside world until the early 1970’s.

But by the early 1990’s, the Achuar learned that under their pristine, old growth rain forest lies oil—oil the outside world wants. Then their leaders learned of the enormous damage that oil operations were doing to some of their indigenous neighbors, only a few hundred miles away.
And yet for more than a decade now, the Achuar have managed to keep the oil companies out of their territory. The Achuar are still living in one of the most pristine tropical rain forests on earth.
Larry’s talk addresses the secrets of Achuar success, and the messages they have for us in the developed world.
Using selected scenes from his documentary film Dream People of the Amazon, Larry Lansburgh will tailor his presentation to your organization’s needs.
